Indranil Datta has joined The Media Edge (TME) as vice-president and head of North and East operations. He will report to Anupriya Acharya, president, TME. Prior to this, Datta was head of Starcom’s Bengaluru operations.
Datta’s stint with Starcom was quite short—just seven months.
When asked why he was moving out so soon, Datta quips, “I belong to Delhi and it’s difficult to stay away from this city.” But he adds quickly that Starcom is a great organisation to work with and his stint there was a wonderful experience.
Datta will now help TME strengthen itself in markets beyond Mumbai. He will take care of the two key markets of Delhi and Kolkata.
Datta has been in this industry for close to 17 years now. He started his career at FCB-Ulka in 1989. He has worked with agencies such as Bates, Publicis and Zenith Optimedia. In fact, he was part of the founding team of Zenith Optimedia when the agency was launched in mid-2004.
For the record, TME has clients such as Parle, Yahoo!, Colgate Palmolive, Tata Motors and DHL on its account.
