Sudhir Chaudhary has been appointed head of channel at Janmat TV. He moves in from India TV where he was anchor and a close associate of Rajat Sharma. Chaudhary will report to Markand Adhikari, vice-chairman and managing director, Sri Adhikari Brothers Group.
The development has been confirmed by Markand Adhikari, who says, “As head, Sudhir will take care of the overall function of the channel. His task is to complete the revamp and expansion strategy. After our maiden IPO, we will leverage our state-of-the-art studio and technology, which will further sharpen the channel’s niche positioning. The company has plans to establish its bureaus all over India through an extensive network of live broadcasting systems and OB vans. Sticking to its niche, it will provide a platform to every Indian to express his voice from every nook and corner of the country. We shall also question the who’s who of India live.”
Chaudhary has been in the television news industry for more than 14 years. He started his career with Zee News and spent close to 10 years there before he moved on to Sahara Samay National as a senior editorial person and senior anchor. He played a major role in setting up and launching Sahara Samay National. After that, he joined India TV as an executive editor.
Chaudhary has covered multiple big stories, including the political battle fields of different Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections, the war in Kargil and the terrorist attack on Parliament House.
Janmat TV is a news channel from Broadcast Initiatives Ltd promoted by Sri Adhikari Brothers. After the maiden IPO of Broadcast Initiatives, the management has mega plans to revamp the news and views channel.
