Rajat Jain quits Walt Disney

Rajat Jain, managing director, The Walt Disney Company India, has put in his papers.He has spent three years with the company and will be pursuing new opportunities. His next move is not known.

Jain remarks, “It has been a challenging role to launch The Walt Disney Company in India. The company today has a significant presence in television, merchandise and licensing. I am grateful to my management team for their dedication and support in taking the business to where it is today.”

Commenting on the development, Andy Bird, president, Walt Disney International, says, “The international expansion and growth of the Disney brand in India is a key priority for the company. Since the beginning, Rajat (Jain) has played an integral part in laying a strong foundation for growth for The Walt Disney Company in India. I wish him well in his future endeavours.”

Until the next appointment is made, Jain will work with Bird to oversee management of The Walt Disney Company in India.

Jain holds a BTech degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, and a postgraduate degree in business management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad. He has close to 20 years of work experience. Prior to Disney India, he worked with SET Max as vice-president and business head. Before SET Max, he was associated with Telstra international in the telecom sector and Benckiser India and Hindustan Lever in the FMCG sector.
