He moves from Jetix France, which is majority owned by The Walt Disney Company
Antoine Villeneuve has been appointed senior vice-president and managing director, Walt Disney Television India. He will be responsible for the three channels in the Walt Disney India bouquet: Disney Channel, Toon Disney/Jetix and the newly acquired Hungama TV.
He will report to Rich Ross, president, Disney Channel Worldwide, and also to the managing director of The Walt Disney Company in India. Villeneuve is expected to relocate to Mumbai and take on his new role on June 1, 2007. His responsibilities include overseeing Disney’s growing television channel operations across all platforms in India.

Villeneuve is excited about assuming his new role. He says, “India is one of the fastest growing media markets and to be able to lead a team of such highly experienced and dedicated television professionals will be exciting.”
Meanwhile, Ross is confident that Villeneuve’s vast experience will help boost Walt Disney’s television business in India.
Villeneuve’s earlier assignment was as the vice-president and managing director for Jetix France, which is part of Jetix Europe, majority owned by The Walt Disney Company. There, he looked after various aspects of the channel and its online and consumer products divisions. Prior to that, he spent 14 years with the Canal+ Group, where he was responsible for the international development of the Canal+ Group.
Rajat Jain, the erstwhile managing director of The Walt Disney Company India, had quit in March this year.
