Padi says he has been in the media industry since his teens – while still in school and college, he was a freelance invigilator with IMRB for the NRS pilot project and a freelance analyst scoring tally marks for NRS. “As long as there is a story to tell and an idea to sell, I will be in this industry,” he says.

In his adult life, Padi began his career in Fountainhead, Chennai, and spent a number of years in Euro RSCG (Bangalore and Mumbai), eventually landing up in GroupM in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

Padi’s experience covers technology (Intel, Dell, Samsung, SanDisk), telecommunications (Maxis, Nokia, Vertu, Samsung, AKN MTech), automotive (Volvo, Nissan, Volkswagen, Audi), financial services (Aviva, Deutsche Bank, AIA/AIG, AXA) and FMCG (Beauty Cosmetics, Danone).

According to executives at mediaedge:cia, Padi will add to the agency’s cricketing strengths, albeit not as a player (incidentally, he is a qualified cricket umpire with TNCA and enjoys being wooed by both the teams).
