SaharaOne Media & Entertainment has named its new Hindi entertainment channel ‘FIRANGI’. Rajeev Chakrabarti has been appointed as business head for this new channel.

Positioned to showcase television programming from around the world in Hindi, FIRANGI proposes to do something rather unique with the creation of the ‘World Television’ category. The entire spectrum of the most popular entertainment programming will be sourced from across the globe and dubbed in Hindi for the predominantly adult viewers that the channel has in mind. This aims to be a departure from the conventional Hindi entertainment programming, as FIRANGI hopes to introduce its viewers to the world’s most-watched novelas, sitcoms, short series, adventure series and world cinema.
