Tata Sky introduces three new interactive services

Tata Sky has introduced ActveTM Darshan (religious viewing), ActveTM Learning (educational information) and ActveTM Stories

Tata Sky, the joint venture between the Tata Group and STAR, has launched three new interactive services, ActveTM Darshan, ActveTM Learning and ActveTM Stories. With these three services, Tata Sky now has something for every member of the family.

Actve TM Darshan, launched in partnership with STAR News, feeds viewers with live pictures of the ISKCON Temple in Juhu and the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple on their TV. The popularity of edutainment service ActveTM Wizkids has inspired the company to introduce two more similar initiatives. One of these is ActveTM Learning, a quiz based educational service covering Maths and Science for children in the age group of 7-11 years. The content for this service is provided by 24x7guru.com. The other service is ActveTM Stories, a TV based story book that children can read and listen to at their own pace. The service features new stories every day in English and Hindi from the ‘Panchatantra’, ‘Jataka Tales’ and ‘Hitopadesh’.

Vikram Kaushik, managing director and chief executive officer, Tata Sky, says, “Making television viewing a wholesome experience for the entire family is our objective. With the launch of the three new services, our interactive offering now includes education, cooking, quizzing, astrology, ‘darshan’ and more, ensuring that we have something special for every member of the family, right from a three year old child to his 80 year old grandparents.”

Tata Sky has recently introduced 15 Sun channels, 9X, Mi Marathi, STAR Majha Kalaignar TV, NDTV Good Times, UTV Bindass, Neo Sports and Neo Sports Plus as also two new interactive services, ActveTM Cooking and ActveTM Astrology. It now offers more than 140 channels.
