Deccan Chronicle has announced Maxus as its media agency without calling any formal pitch. The size of the account is worth around Rs 20 crore
Deccan Chronicle has appointed media agency Maxus to handle all its media duties. The business of the AP based newspaper, which has seven editions in Andhra Pradesh and one in Tamil Nadu, is estimated to be worth Rs 20-25 crore.
Maxus was introduced to the newspaper through its creative agency, Temple Advertising Bangalore.
Commenting on the win, Ajit Varghese, managing director, Maxus, says, “I don’t think they had an agency to handle their media work. But now that we’re aboard, we intend to do a lot.” Maxus will work closely with Deccan Chronicle on all its other ventures, too.
The Deccan Chronicle, an English newspaper, is published simultaneously in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. It has ABC certification and a circulation of 9.02 lakhs. The Deccan Chronicle is a part of Deccan Chronicle Holdings, which also owns a retail chain.
