The network has bagged a total of six medals including one gold, two silver and three bronze
Sony Entertainment Television (SET) Network is the only broadcasting network from India to win medals at the 2008 New York Festivals (NYF) Television Broadcasting Awards. The television broadcaster has bagged a total of 6 medals including one gold, two silver and three bronze.
The gold medal has been won by SET MAX for ‘Come Play’ promo in the Sports Program Promo category. SET MAX also bagged a silver medal for ‘Cricket is Back’ promo in the Camerawork category.
Commenting on winning the gold award, Sneha Rajani, executive vice-president and business head, SET MAX, says, “This is indeed a wonderful recognition for all our efforts and a proud moment for the global brand MAX.”
T Gangadhar, vice-president and head of marketing, SET MAX, adds, “MAX has established a legacy of creating memorable marketing campaigns within a short time-span. Winning the award will further enhance our reputation of being an innovative and creative broadcaster.”
The second silver was won by Sony Entertainment Television for ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 2 Music Video’ in the Best Art Direction category. Apart from the silver, SET won two bronze medals as well. The bronze medals were won for ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 2’ in the Music video category and for ‘Bigg Boss – Old man’ promo in the Soundtrack-Mix category.
The third bronze was won by broadcaster’s youth channel, SAB TV. SAB bagged the award for ‘Fame X – Let’s Fly’ promo in the Camerawork category.
Other networks that ended up as finalists from India include CNN-IBN, NDTV 24X7, Times Global Broadcasting Co., ZEE Entertainment Enterprises and Anil Kant Ministries International India.
The New York Festivals International Television Broadcasting Awards recognises world’s best work in news, documentary, information and entertainment programming, music videos, infomercials, promotion spots, openings and ID’s. The 2008 TV Broadcasting Awards received entries from 32 countries. Each entry was screened by NYF judging panels - industry experts including producers, directors, writers and other media professionals in New York.
