Turner-Miditech JV appoints Gitanjali Murari head of content

Murari was earlier head of programming at Sony Pix. She has around 17 years of experience in the television and broadcast industry

Real Global Broadcasting (RGB) has appointed Gitanjali Murari head of content for its soon to be launched general entertainment channel (GEC). RGB is the 50:50 joint venture between Turner International and Alva Brothers, which was set up in December 2007.

Murari was earlier head of programming at Sony Pix. She has around 17 years of experience in the television and broadcast industry. She has held various positions at various channels, including SET India, Zee Trendz, Zee MGM and Zee English.

In an official communiqué, RGB director Sunil Lulla says, “Gitanjali will lead the designing and execution of programming for contemporary neo Indian audiences. Her skills and expertise will attract the best of talent to the channel and the company.”

Murari says, “I look forward to lead the programming of a new age GEC in India. There are many opportunities and new ways to entertain audiences and we hope to establish creative leadership in the marketplace.”

In addition to her stints at leading channels, Murari has worked as an independent creative consultant, a TV show producer and a documentary producer.
