NDTV Profit has relaunched its only Hindi show, Money Mantra, this time in association with Reliance Money. It had gone off air last year after about 500 episodes.

The show is now called Reliance Money Presents Money Mantra. It will be hosted by Pankaj Pachauri like before. The panel will have one constant panellist, Sudip Bandyopadhyay, director and chief executive officer, Reliance Money. The second panellist will be an industry veteran, expert in the specific topic of discussion.

Unlike the earlier show, where various industries such as health care, education, oil and gas, and finance were discussed at length, the new Money Mantra will discuss the financial and investment bent in all these segments. The topics that are likely to feature on the show are saving for a child’s education; foreign markets it would be wise to invest in; whether mutual funds are better than equity funds; which investment tool is better; and how commodity trading impacts your grocery bills.

“Reliance Money has never advertised itself and we are not looking at branding through this association,” says Bandyopadhyay. “This is just an association with an educational programme.” In the past, too, Reliance Money has associated itself with similar programmes, Pehla Kadam and Sainik Investor on CNBC-TV18.

The weekly show will be aired on Friday evenings with a studio audience. The audience will be allowed to ask questions, depending on the topic of discussion. Calls from viewers will not be solicited, but emails that have been sent in advance may be answered. The suggestions and guidance offered by the experts on the show will be fairly general, without naming any particular companies.

Reliance Money is the broking and distribution arm of Reliance Capital.
