The two businesses are together estimated to be worth Rs 20 crore. Traditional media will be used extensively for both, along with an extra focus on digital media.

ZenithOptimedia won the MicroMax account after a multi-agency pitch. Satyajit Sen, managing director, North, ZenithOptimedia, says, “MicroMax is a youth brand. So, we will create youth contacts using all the available passion points. TV will be used widely. We will spread ourselves across the various youth touchpoints which promise to deliver high ROI (return on investment) for our client.”

There was no pitch called for the Bharat Hotels business, but the agency had to make a formal presentation before it got the account.

Ambika Srivastava, chief executive officer, ZenithOptimedia, says, “Both MicroMax and Bharat Hotels are leading players in their chosen fields and have great potential and distinct roles to play in shaping the future of their respective industries.”

A Publicis Groupe unit, ZenithOptimedia handles brands such as Aviva, British Airways, Emaar MGF, Fidelity, Haier, Hewlett-Packard, Hyundai, India Today, INX Media, Ministry of Tourism, Nestlé, Oberoi, Patronas, Prévention Magazine and Puma.
