GEC watch: Five Zee shows in Top 10; Jhansi Ki Rani debuts with TVR of 4

The overall GRPs of the Hindi GEC genre grew from 1284 in Week 33 to 1340 in Week 34

Both Colors and STAR Plus are at No. 1 in Week 34, as per TAM Media Research data, with 22 per cent share (C&S, 4+, HSM) of the Hindi GEC (general entertainment channel) pie. The GRPs recorded by the two channels are 297 and 294 respectively.

Zee is the star of the week, grabbing 21 per cent share. Its GRPs have grown from 265 in Week 33 to 281 in Week 34.

Five of the week's Top 10 programmes are from Zee. Its new epic drama, Jhansi Ki Rani, has debuted with a TVR of 4. Sony, at No. 3, has recorded 124 GRPs and commands a relative share of 9 per cent. CID continues to be the highest rated show from the channel, with an average TVR of 3.

NDTV Imagine has retained 8 per cent share in Week 34, followed by SAB, which has also managed to keep its 5 per cent share. STAR One is at No. 6 and has garnered 4 per cent share, followed by Sahara One with 3 per cent. DD1 and STAR Utsav have garnered 2 per cent share each, while 9X and Real have managed to tap 1 per cent of the Hindi GEC pie.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is the top programme, recording a high TVR of 7.6. Balika Vadhu is the second most watched show and has recorded a TVR of 6.5. Na Aana Is Des Laado and Bidayi have both garnered TVRs of 5.3. Uttaran and Pavitra Rishta have both recorded TVRs of 5.2.

The other top shows from Zee are Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo; Chhoti Bahu; Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs-09 and Aapki Antara.
