Navaneeth will handle the content and revenue of the network's non-GECs
Sun TV is in the process of strengthening the upper rung of its management. After Ajay Vidyasagar and Sanjay Reddy, the company has appointed LV Navaneeth as vice-president, content and revenue.
This is a newly created post at Sun Network. Based out of Chennai, Navaneeth will report to Ajay Vidyasagar.
Navaneeth joins in from Radio One, a Mid-Day Multimedia and BBC joint venture, where he was the station head and programming head of the Chennai station.
Talking about his new role, Navaneeth says, "I have done both print and radio, and now with television, the circle is complete. Also when you think of television networks, especially in this part of the country (South), Sun is the biggest network and perfect for the job in television media."
Armed with 15 years of experience of programming, advertising and marketing in media and entertainment, Navaneeth has been associated with The Hindu, HCL and Radio One.
After being with The Hindu for eight years, from 1998 to mid 2006, he left the company as GM, advertising and marketing. Later, he was with Radio One for three years and was responsible for launching the Chennai station.
On Navaneeth's appointment, Vidyasagar, COO, Sun Network says, "Our movie, music, kids' and comedy channels have a very strong consumer franchise and deliver a strong audience share. We are very excited to have been able to bring in Navaneeth into the Sun TV Network family and expect him to bring in a lot of innovation and freshness into the bunch of channels."
Navaneeth is an engineering graduate in Instrumentation Technology and also holds a post graduate diploma in Marketing Communications from Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad.
For the record, Sun TV Network operates 20 satellite television channels across the four South Indian languages -- Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
