RAM Week 2: Radio Mirchi leads in three RAM markets; shows marginal loss in share

In Mumbai, Red FM and Radio City hold on to last week's positions as well

The Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 2, 2010 for the four RAM markets is out. Here is an update on the winners and losers.

Mumbai

The leader in the city is Radio Mirchi, with a market share of 17.2 per cent, experiencing a gain of 0.6 percentage points in comparison to the previous week. The average share of Radio Mirchi in the city for the past four weeks turns out to be 17.1 per cent.

The second and third spots are occupied by Red FM and Radio City respectively. Red FM has a market share of 13.5 per cent, with a loss of 0.3 percentage points over the previous week. Radio City is placed third, with a market share of 13.1 per cent.

Occupying the fourth spot, AIR FM Gold's past four weeks' average market share turns out to be 12.5 per cent. This week, the radio station has garnered a market share of 12.6 per cent.

AIR FM Gold is followed by Fever FM, which has a market share of 12.6 per cent. Big FM is the sixth player, having registered a market share of 11.7 per cent. The average market share of Big FM for four weeks turns out to be 11.9 per cent.

Radio One and AIR FM Rainbow occupy the seventh and eighth spots with market shares of 6.5 per cent and 5.5 per cent respectively.

This week, among the other stations in Mumbai, Vividh Bharati has a market share of 3.6 per cent, followed by Meow FM (2.4 per cent) and Akashvani Mumbai (1.9 per cent).

Delhi

Radio Mirchi continues to lead with a market share of 24.7 per cent, registering a loss of 0.3 percentage points. The radio station's average market share over the last four weeks is 24.9 per cent.

Fever FM, with a market share of 18.7 per cent, occupies the second spot. Its four weeks' average market share is 18.1 per cent.

The third spot is occupied by AIR FM Gold with a market share of 18.4 per cent; it has registered a gain of 0.9 percentage points in comparison to Week 1. The last four weeks' average market share for the radio station turns out to be 17.4 per cent.

Red FM and Radio City are placed fourth and fifth in Delhi, with market shares of 9.3 and 8.2 per cent respectively. Red FM's four weeks' average market share is 9.2, whereas Radio City's average market share for the same period turns out to be 8.5 per cent.

Big FM this week has managed a market share of 6.5 per cent and occupies the sixth spot in Delhi. Radio One is seventh in Delhi, with a market share of 5.9 per cent and a loss of 0.1 percentage points.

Among the other stations in Delhi in Week 2 are Hit FM and Meow FM with market shares of 2.6 per cent each. They are followed by AIR FM Rainbow (2.2 per cent), Vividh Bharati (0.7 per cent) and Akashvani Delhi (0.1 per cent).

Bengaluru

Big FM leads in Bengaluru, followed by Radio Mirchi and Fever FM in the second and third places.

Big FM leads in the city with a market share of 19 per cent. Its average market share for the last four weeks is 19.6 per cent.

Radio Mirchi, occupying the second spot, has garnered a market share of 17.8 per cent, registering a gain of 0.5 percentage points. Its average market share stands at 17.4 per cent. Fever FM is at No. 3 and has a market share of 15.3 per cent.

Radio City is placed fourth with a market share of 12.4 per cent and its average market share for the past four weeks stands at 12.2 per cent. The fifth position is occupied by AIR FM Rainbow, which has managed a market share of 10.1 per cent, registering a marginal gain of 0.1 percentage points in comparison to Week 1.

Red FM is sixth in the city with a market share of 9.1 per cent. The radio station's average market share for the past four weeks is 8.5 per cent. Radio One has registered a market share of 8.7 per cent, gaining 0.6 percentage points.

Among the other stations in Bengaluru in Week 2 are Vividh Bharati, which has a market share of 4.4 per cent, followed by Radio Indigo (2.2 per cent), Gyan Vani (0.7 per cent) and Akashvani (0.3 per cent).

Kolkata

As has been the case for several weeks, this time, too, Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 20.8 per cent.

It is followed by Big FM and Friends FM in the second and third positions. Big FM has a market share of 17 per cent, with a gain of 0.9 percentage points. Its four weeks' average market share is 16.3 per cent.

Friends FM has a market share of 14 per cent and its last four weeks' average market share stands at 14.4 per cent.

Aamar FM occupies the fourth place in the city with a market share of 10.8 per cent, registering a gain of 0.6 percentage points. Red FM has garnered a market share of 7.9 per cent, with a loss of 0.2 percentage points. Its four weeks average market share turns out to be 7.7 per cent.

Fever FM is placed sixth, with a market share of 7.5 per cent.

In Week 2, Radio One and Meow FM are placed seventh and eighth in Kolkata, with market shares of 6.2 and 5 per cent. Radio One has gained 0.2 percentage points, whereas Meow FM has 0.3 percentage points in comparison to Week 1.

This week, among the other stations in Kolkata, AIR FM Gold has a market share of 3.5 per cent, followed by AIR FM Rainbow (3.3 per cent), Akashvani (2.2 per cent), Power FM (1.3 per cent) and Vividh Bharati (0.5 per cent).
