RAM Week 6: Fever FM displaces Big FM from fourth position in Mumbai

Radio One and Red FM battle for sixth spot in Bengaluru

The Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 6, 2010 for the four RAM markets is out. Here is an update on the RAM markets.

Mumbai

Radio Mirchi is No.1 in the city with a market share of 17.2 per cent, without registering any gain or loss in comparison to Week 5. The average share of Radio Mirchi in Mumbai for the past four weeks is also 17.2 per cent.

The second and third spots are occupied by Red FM and Radio City. Red FM has a market share of 14.5 per cent, registering a loss of 0.4 percentage points over the previous week. Radio City is placed third, with a market share of 13.2 percentage points and a loss of 0.6 percentage points in comparison to Week 5. Its four weeks' average market share stands at 13.3 per cent.

This week, Fever FM has moved up a spot to occupy the fourth spot with a market share of 11.5 per cent. With a market share of 11.2 per cent, AIR FM Gold has managed to occupy the fifth position. Its four weeks' average market share stands at 11.7 per cent.

Big FM has been pushed back to the sixth spot by Fever FM. It has a market share of 11.1 per cent and its average market share for the past four weeks turns out to be 11.8 per cent.

Radio One and AIR FM Rainbow occupy the seventh and eighth spots, with market shares of 7 per cent and 5.2 per cent, respectively.

Among the other stations in Mumbai, Vividh Bharati has a market share of 4 per cent,

followed by Meow FM (2.5 per cent) and Akashvani Mumbai (2.4 per cent).

Delhi

Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 24.8 per cent. The radio station's average market share over the past four weeks is 24.7 per cent.

Fever FM, with a market share of 18.7 per cent, occupies the second spot in the city. Its average market share for the past four weeks is also18.7 per cent. The third spot is occupied by AIR FM Gold, with a market share of 17.9 per cent. It has gained 0.7 percentage points this week. The last four weeks' average market share for the radio station is 17.5 per cent.

Red FM and Radio City occupy the fourth and fifth places in Delhi, with market shares of 8.7 and 8.3 per cent respectively. Red FM's four weeks' average market share is 9.1 per cent. Radio City's average market share turns out to be 8.5 per cent for the past four weeks.

Big FM, with a market share of 6.7 per cent, is placed sixth in the city. It has lost 0.6 percentage points over Week 5. Radio One is seventh in the city, with a market share of 5.7 per cent.

Among the other stations in Delhi in Week 6 are Meow FM, which has a market share of 2.9 per cent, followed by Hit FM and AIR FM Rainbow (2.5 per cent each), Vividh Bharati (1.8 per cent) and Akashvani Delhi (0.1 per cent).

Bengaluru

Big FM is No.1 in the city, followed by Radio Mirchi and Fever FM as the second and third players.

Big FM has a market share of 19.7 per cent, with a gain of 0.2 percentage points. The average market share for the last four weeks for the radio station is 19.4 per cent.

Radio Mirchi is placed second, with a market share of 16.3 per cent and a loss 0.3 percentage points. The average market share of the radio station for four weeks is 17.5 per cent. Fever FM is No. 3 in Delhi and has a market share of 15.4 per cent, losing 0.3 percentage points over Week 5.

Radio City is placed fourth with a market share of 12.7 per cent and its average market share for the past four weeks turns out to be 12.5 per cent. The fifth spot is occupied by AIR FM Rainbow, with a market share of 10.4 per cent and its last four week's average market share is 10.2 per cent.

Radio One and Red FM are placed sixth and seventh in the city, with market shares of 9.4 per cent and 8.4 per cent respectively. Red FM has lost 1.2 percentage points this week.

Among others in Bengaluru in Week 6 are Vividh Bharati, which has garnered a market share of 3.9 per cent, followed by Radio Indigo (2.6 per cent), Gyan Vani (0.6 per cent) and Akashvani (0.5 per cent).

Kolkata

The city is led by Radio Mirchi, with a market share of 20.4 per cent. The radio station's average market share for the last four weeks stands at 20.4 per cent.

Radio Mirchi is followed by Big FM and Friends FM in the second and third spots respectively. Big FM has a market share of 16.6 per cent, with a loss of 0.3 percentage points over the previous week. Its four weeks' average market share is 16.9 per cent.

Friends FM has a market share of 13.4 per cent and its last four weeks' average market share stands at 13.7 per cent. Aamar FM is placed fourth in the city, with a market share of 10.6 per cent and a gain of 0.5 percentage points. The average market share for four weeks for the radio station is 10.6 per cent.

Red FM continues to hold on to the fifth position with a market share of 8.3 per cent. Fever FM is placed sixth with a market share of 8.1 per cent. Its four weeks' average share turns out to be 7.7 per cent.

Radio One and Meow FM occupy the seventh and eighth positions in Kolkata, with market shares of 6.6 and 5.2 per cent respectively.

In Week 6, among the other stations in Kolkata, AIR FM Gold has a market share of 3.3 per cent, followed by AIR FM Rainbow (3.1 per cent), Akashvani (2.2 per cent), Power FM (1.5 per cent) and Vividh Bharati (0.7 per cent).
