RAM Week 7: Big FM back as No.4 player in Mumbai

In all the four RAM markets, it's status quo in leadership positions

The Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 7, 2010 for the four RAM markets is out. Here is an update on the happenings in the RAM markets.

Mumbai

Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 16.7 per cent and a loss of 0.5 per cent in comparison to Week 6. The average share of Radio Mirchi in Mumbai for the past four weeks is 17.2 per cent.

The second and third positions are occupied by Red FM and Radio City respectively. Red FM has a market share of 14.6 per cent and its four weeks' average market share stands at 14.5 per cent. The third player, Radio City, has a market share of 13.3 per cent, with a gain of 0.1 percentage points in comparison to Week 6. Its four weeks' average market share is also 13.3 per cent.

This week, Big FM has made a comeback as the No. 4 player with a market share of 11.8 per cent, registering a gain of 0.7 percentage points. Last week, the radio station was placed at No. 6. Fever FM has dropped down a position to settle as the fifth player with a market share of 11.5 per cent.

AIR FM Gold is at No. 6. Its four weeks' market share stands at 11.3 per cent.

Radio One and AIR FM Rainbow occupy the seventh and eighth spots with market shares of 7.2 per cent and 4.8 per cent, respectively.

Among the other stations in Mumbai, Vividh Bharati has a market share of 4 per cent,

followed by Akashavani Mumbai (2.7 per cent) and Meow FM (2.5 per cent).

Delhi

Radio Mirchi is No. 1 in the city with a market share of 24.1 per cent. Its average market share over the past four weeks is 24.7 per cent.

Fever FM, with a market share of 18.8 per cent, occupies the second spot in the city. The average market share of the radio station for the past four weeks is 18.7 per cent. The third position is occupied by AIR FM Gold with a market share of 17.2 per cent. It has lost 0.7 percentage points this week. The last four weeks' average market share for the radio station is 17.4 per cent.

Red FM and Radio City occupy the fourth and fifth places with market shares of 9.3 per cent and 8.2 per cent respectively. Red FM's four weeks' average market share is 8.9 per cent, while Radio City's average market share is 8.6 per cent for the last four weeks.

Big FM, with a market share of 6.6 per cent, is placed sixth in the city. It has lost 0.1 percentage points over Week 6. Radio One is seventh in the city, with a market share of 6 per cent.

Among the other stations in Delhi in Week 7 are Meow FM, which has a market share of 2.9 per cent; followed by AIR FM Rainbow (2.6 per cent); Hit FM (2.2); Vividh Bharati (1.8 per cent each) and Akashvani Delhi (0.2 per cent).

Bengaluru

Big FM occupies the No.1 spot in the city, followed by Radio Mirchi and Fever FM as the second and third players.

Big FM has a market share of 19.7 per cent. The average market share for the last four weeks for the radio station is 19.6 per cent.

Radio Mirchi is placed second with a market share of 16.4 per cent. The average market share for the radio station for the past four weeks is 17.1 per cent. Fever FM is No.3 in Delhi and has a market share of 15.6 per cent; it has gained 0.2 percentage points over Week 6.

Radio City is placed fourth with a market share of 12.8 per cent; it has an average market share of 12.5 per cent. The fifth spot is occupied by AIR FM Rainbow with a market share of 10.3 per cent and its last four weeks' average market share is 10.3 per cent.

Radio One and Red FM are placed sixth and seventh in the city, with market shares of 8.9 per cent and 8.2 per cent, respectively. Radio One and Red FM have lost 0.5 and 0.2 percentage points this week.

Among others in Bengaluru in Week 7 are Vividh Bharati, which has garnered a market share of 4.4 per cent, followed by Radio Indigo (2.6 per cent); Gyan Vani (0.8 per cent); and Akashvani (0.4 per cent).

Kolkata

The city is ruled by Radio Mirchi with a market share of 20 per cent. The radio station's average market share for the last four weeks stands at 20.3 per cent.

Radio Mirchi is followed by Big FM and Friends FM in the second and third spots. Big FM has a market share of 16.2 per cent with a loss of 0.4 percentage points over the previous week. Its four weeks' average market share is 16.8 per cent.

Friends FM has a market share of 13.1 per cent and its last four weeks' average market share stands at 13.3 per cent. Aamar FM is placed fourth in the city with a market share of 11 per cent and a gain of 0.4 percentage points. The four weeks' average market share for the radio station is 10.5 per cent.

Red FM is fifth with a market share of 8.6 per cent. Fever FM is placed sixth with a market share of 8 per cent. Its four weeks' average share turns out to 7.9 per cent.

Radio One and Meow FM occupy the seventh and eighth positions in Kolkata with market shares of 6.3 per cent and 5.3 per cent respectively.

In Week 7 among the other stations in Kolkata, AIR FM Rainbow has a market share of 3.6 per cent, followed by AIR FM Gold (3.5 per cent); Akashvani (2.3per cent); Power FM (1.5 per cent); and Vividh Bharati (0.7 per cent).
