RAM Week 8: Big FM retains No.4 spot; Fever FM climbs up in Mumbai

In Delhi, Radio city replaces Red FM at the fourth spot

The Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 8, 2010 for the four RAM markets is out. Here is an update on the winners and losers in the four RAM markets.

Mumbai

Radio Mirchi is No.1 in the city with a market share of 17.3 per cent, gaining 0.6 per cent in comparison to Week 7. The average share of Radio Mirchi in Mumbai for the past four weeks is 17 per cent.

The second and third positions in Mumbai are occupied by Red FM and Radio City. Red FM has a market share of 14.4 per cent and its four weeks' average market share stands at 14.7 per cent. The third player, Radio City, has a market share of 13.5 per cent, with a gain of 0.2 percentage points in comparison to Week 7. Its four weeks' average market share is 13.3 per cent.

Big FM, having made a comeback as the No. 4 player last week, has maintained its position this week as well with a market share of 11.8 per cent, without registering any gain or loss over the previous week. Fever FM has moved up a spot to occupy the fifth position with a market share of 11.6 per cent.

AIR FM Gold occupies the seventh position. Its four weeks' market share stands at 10.5 per cent.

Radio One and AIR FM Rainbow occupy the seventh and eighth spots in the city with market shares of 6.5 per cent and 5.2 per cent, respectively.

Among the other stations in Mumbai, Vividh Bharati has a market share of 4.2 per cent, followed by Meow FM (2.6 per cent) and Akashvani Mumbai (2.3 per cent).

Delhi

Radio Mirchi is No. 1 in Delhi with a market share of 24 per cent. Its average market share over the past four weeks is 24 per cent.

Fever FM, with a market share of 18.4 per cent, is placed second in the city. The four weeks' average market share of the radio station is 18.7 per cent. The third position is occupied by AIR FM Gold with a market share of 17.8 per cent. It has gained 0.6 percentage points this week. The last four weeks' average market share of the radio station is 17.4 per cent.

In Week 8, Radio City has replaced Red FM as the No.4 player. It has a market share of 8.8 per cent. Radio City's four weeks' average market share is 8.6 per cent. Red FM's market share is 8.7 per cent, with a loss of 0.6 percentage points.

Big FM, with a market share of 6.5 per cent, is placed sixth in the city. It has lost 0.1 percentage points over Week 7. Radio One is seventh in the city with a market share of 5.9 per cent.

Among the other stations in Delhi in Week 8 are Meow FM, which has a market share of 2.8 per cent, followed by Hit FM and AIR FM Rainbow with market shares of 2.5 per cent each; Vividh Bharati (1.9 per cent); and Akashvani Delhi (0.3 per cent).

Bengaluru

Big FM leads in the city, followed by Radio Mirchi and Fever FM in the second and third positions.

Big FM has a market share of 19.5 per cent. Its average market share for the last four weeks stands at 19.7 per cent.

Radio Mirchi is placed second with a market share of 16.4 per cent. The average market share of the radio station for the past four weeks is 16.7 per cent. Fever FM is No. 3 in Delhi and has a market share of 15.3 per cent; it has lost 0.3 percentage points over Week 7.

Radio City is placed fourth with a market share of 12.6 per cent and its average market share for the last four weeks also turns out to be 12.6 per cent. The fifth spot is occupied by AIR FM Rainbow with a market share of 10.2 per cent and its last four weeks' average market share is 10.1 per cent.

Radio One and Red FM are placed sixth and seventh in the city, with market shares of 9.6 per cent and 8.1 per cent, respectively.

Among others in Bengaluru in Week 8 are Vividh Bharati, which has garnered a market share of 4.1 per cent, followed by Radio Indigo (2.9 per cent); Gyan Vani (0.7 per cent); and Akashvani (0.5 per cent).

Kolkata

Radio Mirchi rules in the city with a market share of 20.4 per cent. The radio station's average market share for the past four weeks stands at 20.2 per cent.

Big FM and Friends FM occupy the second and third spots. Big FM has a market share of 16.1 per cent with a loss of 0.1 percentage points over the previous week. Its four weeks' average market share is 16.6 per cent.

Friends FM has a market share of 13.5 per cent and its average market share for the past four weeks stands at 13.5 per cent. Aamar FM is placed fourth in the city with a market share of 10.6 per cent and a loss of 0.4 percentage points. The four weeks' average market share for the radio station is 10.5 per cent.

Red FM is fifth with a market share of 8.6 per cent. Fever FM is placed sixth with a market share of 8.3 per cent. Its four weeks' average share turns out to be 8 per cent.

Radio One and Meow FM occupy the seventh and eighth positions in Kolkata, with market shares of 6.2 and 5.4 per cent respectively.

In Week 8, among the other stations in Kolkata, AIR FM Rainbow has a market share of 4.1 per cent, followed by AIR FM Gold (3.3 per cent); Akashvani (1.6 per cent); Power FM (1.2 per cent); and Vividh Bharati (0.7 per cent).
