RAM Week 9: Red FM back as No.4 player in Delhi

It's status quo in other markets

The Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 9, 2010 for the four RAM markets is out. Here is an overview of the developments in the four cities.

Mumbai

Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 17.2 per cent. Its average share in Mumbai for the past four weeks is 17.1 per cent.

The second and third spots are occupied by Red FM and Radio City, respectively. Red FM has a market share of 14.3 per cent; while its four weeks' average market share stands at 14.6 per cent. Radio City has a market share of 13.4 per cent, which is the same as its four weeks' average market share.

Big FM continues on No. 4 for the third week, with a market share of 11.7 per cent. Fever FM is placed fifth, with a market share of 11.4 per cent -- a loss of 0.2 percentage point.

AIR FM Gold is on No. 6, with a market share of 11.1 per cent. Its four weeks' average market share stands at 10.9 per cent.

Radio One and AIR FM Rainbow occupy seventh and eighth spots in the city, with market shares of 6.6 per cent and 5 per cent, respectively.

Among the other stations in Mumbai are Vividh Bharati, which has a market share of 4.3 per cent; followed by Meow FM (2.6 per cent) and Akashvani Mumbai (2.2 per cent).

Delhi

Radio Mirchi leads the pack in Delhi too, with a market share of 23.3 per cent, registering a loss of 0.7 percentage point. Its average market share over the past four weeks is 24.4 per cent.

Fever FM, at No. 2, has a market share of 18.9 per cent, which is slightly higher than its four weeks' average market share of 18.6 per cent. At No. 3, AIR FM Gold has a market share of 17.8 per cent, again a bit higher than its last four weeks' average market share of 17.5 per cent.

In Week 9, Red FM is back as the No. 4 player. Its market share is 9.7 per cent, 1 percentage point more than last week, and 0.9 percentage point more than its four weeks' average market share of 8.8 per cent.

Radio City is at No. 5 with a market share of 8.7 per cent; it is followed by Big FM with a market share of 6.7 per cent, a gain of 0.2 percentage point over Week 8. Radio One is at No. 7 in the city, with a market share of 5.5 per cent.

Among the other stations in Delhi in Week 9 are AIR FM Rainbow, which has a market share of 2.9 per cent; followed by Meow FM (2.8 per cent), Hit FM and Vividh Bharati (1.8 per cent each) and Akashvani Delhi (0.2 per cent).

Bengaluru

Big FM is the winner in the city, followed by Radio Mirchi and Fever FM at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

Big FM has a market share of 19.5 per cent; while its average market share for the last four weeks stands at 19.6 per cent. Radio Mirchi has a market share of 17.2 per cent, higher than its last four weeks' average market share of 16.4 per cent. Fever FM has a market share of 15.2 per cent, slightly lower than its last four weeks' average of 15.5 per cent.

Radio City is placed fourth with a market share of 12.2 per cent; its average market share for the last four weeks is 12.6 per cent. At No. 5, AIR FM Rainbow has a market share of 10 per cent; while its last four weeks' average market share is 10.2 per cent.

Radio One and Red FM are placed sixth and seventh in the city, with market shares of 8.9 per cent and 8.7 per cent, respectively.

Among others in Bengaluru in Week 9 is Vividh Bharati, which has garnered a market share of 4.9 per cent, adding 0.8 percentage point in comparison to Week 8. It is followed by Radio Indigo (2.4 per cent), Gyan Vani (0.6 per cent) and Akashvani (0.4 per cent).

Kolkata

Radio Mirchi is numero uno in the city with a market share of 20.3 per cent, which is the same as its average market share for the last four weeks.

Big FM and Friends FM occupy second and third spot, respectively. Big FM has a market share of 16.6 per cent, gaining 0.5 percentage point over the previous week. Its four weeks' average market share is 16.4 per cent. Friends FM has a market share of 13.2 per cent; while its last four weeks' average market share stands at 13.4 per cent.

Aamar FM is at No. 4 in the city, with a market share of 10.5 per cent, a loss of 0.1 percentage point over Week 8. The last four weeks' average market share for the radio station is 10.6 per cent.

Red FM is at No. 5, with a market share of 8.5 per cent. It is followed by Fever FM, which has a market share of 7.7 per cent, registering a loss of 0.6 percentage point. Its last four weeks' average share turns out to be 8.1 per cent.

Radio One and Meow FM occupy seventh and eighth positions in Kolkata, with market shares of 6.3 and 5.8 per cent, respectively.

In Week 9, among the other stations in Kolkata, AIR FM Rainbow has a market share of 3.7 per cent, followed by AIR FM Gold (3.6 per cent), Akashvani (1.9 per cent), Power FM (1.3 per cent) and Vividh Bharati (0.5 per cent).
