Friends FM in Kolkata loses market share to the tune of 1.2 percentage points
The Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 11, 2010 for the four RAM markets is out. Here is a look at the movers and shakers in the four RAM markets.
Mumbai
Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 17.1 per cent. Its average share in Mumbai for the past four weeks also turns out to be 17.1 per cent.
The second and third positions are occupied by Red FM and Radio City. Red FM has a market share of 14.1 per cent and its four weeks' average market share stands at 14.4 per cent. Radio City has a market share of 13.3 per cent with a loss of 0.1 percentage points.
AIR FM Gold has maintained last week's fourth position with a market share of 11.9 per cent. Big FM has moved up a spot to occupy the fifth position in Week 11. It has registered a market share of 11.3 per cent and shows no gain or loss over the past week.
This week, Fever FM has slipped a spot to settle as the sixth player in the city. Its market share is 11.3 per cent and its four weeks' average market share stands at 11.5 per cent.
As has been the case for the past few weeks, Radio One and AIR FM Rainbow occupy the seventh and eighth spots in the city, with market shares of 6.4 per cent and 5.6 per cent respectively.
Among the other stations in Mumbai are Vividh Bharati, which has a market share of
4.3 per cent; followed by Meow FM (2.8 per cent) and Akashvani Mumbai (2.2 per cent).
Delhi
Radio Mirchi is No.1 in Delhi with a market share of 24.7 per cent, registering a gain of 0.2 percentage points over last week. Its average market share over the past four weeks is 24 per cent.
Fever FM is placed at No. 2 and has a market share of 18.7 per cent, registering a gain of 0.3 percentage points. Its four weeks' average market share is 18.6 per cent. At No. 3, AIR FM Gold has a market share of 17.2 per cent.
This week, Red FM is No.4 in the city with a market share of 9.8 per cent, without registering any gain or loss in comparison to Week 10. Radio City is at No. 5 with a market share of 8.5 per cent.
Next in line is Big FM, which is placed sixth with a market share of 6.8 per cent. Radio One is seventh in the city with a market share of 5.4 per cent. In Week 11, both stations have registered gains of 0.1 per cent each.
Among the other stations in Delhi in Week 11 are Meow FM, which has a market share of
2.7 per cent; followed by AIR FM Rainbow (2.2 per cent); Vividh Bharati (1.9 per cent); Hit FM (1.7 per cent); and Akashvani Delhi (0.4 per cent).
Bengaluru
Big FM leads in the city, followed by Radio Mirchi and Fever FM at No. 2 and
No. 3 respectively.
Big FM has a market share of 19.5 per cent and its average market share for the last four weeks stands at 19.6 per cent.
Radio Mirchi has maintained its market share of 17.2 per cent. Fever FM, too, has maintained its market share of 15.4 per cent. Its last four weeks' average market share also turns out to be 15.4 per cent.
Radio City is placed fourth with a market share of 12.7 per cent; its average market share for the past four weeks is 12.4 per cent. At No. 5, AIR FM Rainbow has a market share of 9.3 per cent with a marginal loss of 0.2 percentage points over Week 10. The radio station's four weeks' average market share is 10 per cent.
In Week 11, Radio One has made a comeback as the sixth player. It has managed a market share of 8.8 per cent, registering a gain of 0.3 percentage points. Slipping a position this week is Red FM, with a market share of 8.5 per cent.
Among others in Bengaluru in Week 11 are Vividh Bharati, which has garnered a market share of 4.7 per cent, followed by Radio Indigo (3 per cent); Gyan Vani (0.7 per cent); and Akashvani (0.2 per cent).
Kolkata
The No. 1 player in the city is Radio Mirchi with a market share of 20.7 per cent. Its four weeks' average market share stands at 20.2 per cent.
Big FM and Friends FM occupy the second and third spots. Big FM has a market share of 16.9 per cent, gaining 0.2 percentage points over the previous week. Its four weeks' average market share is 16.4 per cent.
Friends FM has a market share of 12.2 per cent, losing 1.2 percentage points in comparison to Week 10. Its past four weeks' average market share stands at 13.3 per cent.
Aamar FM is No. 4 in the city, with a market share of 10.8 per cent, adding 0.1 percentage points over Week 10. The last four weeks' average market share for the radio station stands at 10.7 per cent.
Red FM is placed at No. 5, with a market share of 8.9 per cent. It is followed by Fever FM with a market share of 8.1 per cent. Its last four weeks' average share turns out to be 8 per cent.
Radio One and Meow FM occupy the seventh and eighth spots in the city with market shares of 6 per cent and 5.1 per cent, respectively.
In Week 11, among the other stations in Kolkata, AIR FM Rainbow has a market share of 4 per cent, followed by AIR FM Gold (3 per cent); Akashvani (2.5 per cent); Power FM (1.3 per cent); and Vividh Bharati (0.6 per cent).
