On Friday, the Delhi High Court put an interim injunction on the publication of the Hindi newspaper, Dainik Bhaskar, in Ranchi
On Friday, August 27, the Delhi High Court put a stay on the publication of the Hindi daily, Dainik Bhaskar, in Ranchi. The stay was in response to a petition filed by Sanjay Agarwal, co-owner of Dainik Bhaskar, objecting to DB Corp's use of the Dainik Bhaskar brand name without their consent.
However, on Saturday morning, Dainik Bhaskar did reach its readers in Ranchi - but with a change. The print line read 'Printed from Ranchi' and 'Published from Jamshedpur' instead of 'Printed and Published from Ranchi'. In the masthead, the newspaper didn't specify the edition of the newspaper, while on August 23, 'Ranchi edition' was mentioned.
Jamsedhpur is just 105 kms away from Ranchi and it takes a little more than three hours to reach Ranchi from Jamshedpur
When asked, DB Corp officials declined to comment on the development, saying that the matter is sub-judice.
