Radio One has partnered with afaqs! to launch a radio show that will introduce audiences to eminent professionals in advertising, media and marketing. The first episode featuring Piyush Pandey will go on air on Saturday, November 27.

Radio One, the joint venture between Mid-day Multimedia and BBC Worldwide, has partnered with afaqs!, the leader in B2B marketing communications, to launch a radio show that aims to give a larger footprint to senior professionals in advertising, media and marketing.

Christened the 'Radio One afaqs! Show', the new property will allow B2B personalities to reveal their lives in a B2C environment, using music to build connections.

Beginning November 27, the one-hour show will be aired every Saturday at 1 PM across the seven metros - Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru. The first personality being covered on the show is Piyush Pandey, executive chairman, Ogilvy India.

Sreekant Khandekar, director, afaqs!, says, "I am really excited about this show, because this is for the first time that something of its kind is being tried in the industry. The show will bring to the fore the lives of some of the biggest names in advertising, media and marketing."

Says Vineet Singh Hukmani, managing director, 94.3 Radio One, "The duality of the idea excited us when we arrived at it. One, it allows us to showcase the musical side, the emotional side of the people in our industry. Second, it allows advertising and marketing people to perhaps face the consumers of the brands they create. You see so many films you like, so many jingles you hear; the audience at large needs to know who created these, who are the unsung heroes of the advertising and media fraternity."

Adds Prasanna Singh, COO, afaqs!, "We are excited to be part of this initiative from Radio One that will bring some of the biggest industry figures closer to a wider audience. Besides discovering these personalities, the show will hopefully also improve awareness and understanding of the industry among the young audiences that Radio One reaches in its operating areas."

According to Prajjal Saha, executive editor, afaqs!, the show is "a great opportunity to reach a wider audience with news and facts from our industry, helping build better quality awareness of the way it works".

The show plays on the tagline, 'Maximum music. Maximum faqs'; wherein 'maximum music' reflects Radio One's proposition and sets out to explore the music tastes of B2B personalities featured in the recently launched 'Who 2010' directory.

'Maximum faqs', on the other hand, makes an attempt to reflect the spirit and passion of the team at afaqs!, in a bid to capture the essence of the human beings behind the designations. This will be done by capturing interesting facets related to their careers and their work, and integrating this with the music they play on the show.
