NDTV Convergence won the gold for its entry, Tablet/iPad NDTV HD as the Best Tablet / iPad News Product. For the award, the jury evaluated the capacity of publications to embrace these new platforms, and to create applications that make full use of each devices type's specific features for creating a new and enjoyable media experience. Judges paid special attention to news product design and ease of navigation.

Lokmat won its award for the entry, Lokmat Aurangabad Premier League - A Cricket Carnival, in the Cross Media Advertising category. This cricket tournament was extensively promoted through Lokmat Media, which included print, television, and also FM radio, online, mobile messaging and outdoor advertising.

A dedicated portal, www.lokmatcricket.com was created, where followers could get updates on the tournament. Information such as match analysis, photo gallery, video streaming, statistics, schedules and team information was updated daily on the website. Lokmat also ran a contest, "Predict the APL Winner", where entries were to be sent through SMS and the winner received an attractive gift hamper. Thus, cross-media usage helped to create momentum for the tournament and synergistic exposure for the brands advertised.

Jagran Prakashan's silver was in the Classifieds Website category, for its website, www.khojle.in. The award honoured classifieds websites that show outstanding quality of design and navigation and provide a unique end-user experience.

Malayala Manorama got the bronze for the Best Magazine website. Entries were evaluated on strong, compelling content that displayed quality and integrity. The jury gave preference to websites that demonstrated consistency through interactivity with users -- evidence of the publishing company's commitment to running the service -- and offering value to readers and advertisers.

More than 50 media companies from 13 countries across Asia participated in this new competition. Through these awards, WAN-IFRA aimed to acknowledge the best examples of how individuals and organizations have embraced new technology, innovative thinking and creativity in digital media in the Asian Region.
