The match between India and Pakistan that took place on March 30, 2011 attracted exceptionally good viewership. According to aMap, the match scored ratings of 11.74 points (NWE India, C&S 4+), the highest ratings achieved by any match in ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 till date.

The game's viewership was exceptionally high for a 50:50 encounter, thereby giving a 514 per cent boost in GRPs to the sports genre over the average of the past four Wednesdays.

Meanwhile, the match led to a 20 per cent dip in GRPs of the Hindi general entertainment channels over the average of last four Wednesdays, while the net reach for the sports genre increased by 80 per cent during the same period.

The peak rating for the match was 20.02 TVR, which was recorded as the game headed towards the finish, wherein India's victory was almost confirmed.

The average time spent per viewer was 160 minutes per person, by far the highest ever time spent registered for this World Cup.

For the record, the average time spent for the India versus Australia match was 115 minutes, while for the India versus England match, it was 99 minutes. As a result, the time spent for the sports genre increased by 248 per cent. This led to a 13 per cent drop in time spent for the Hindi GEC genre over the average of last four Wednesdays.

Overall, 67.3 million viewers watched the match.
