Aidem Ventures to handle media sales duties of Al Jazeera Network

The media consultancy will handle the media sales duties for all Al Jazeera channels including English, Arabic, Documentary and Mobasher, in India. The government of India had granted the broadcasting license to Al Jazeera English in December 2010.

The Al Jazeera news network, which is based in West Asia, has appointed the media consultancy firm Aidem Ventures to handle its media sales. With this, the media consultancy will handle all channels of the network including Al Jazeera English (AJE), and its other flagship channels -- Al Jazeera Arabic, Al Jazeera Documentary, and Al Jazeera Mobasher, in India.

Jaber Al-Ansari, group media general manager, q.media (the media representative of Al Jazeera channels), says in an official communique, "The partnership reflects q.media's ambition to pursue Al Jazeera's successful global expansion, as well as to meet the India-based companies' need to market their brands to a global audience, through a prestigious media platform like the Al Jazeera English channel".

According to Vikas Khanchandani, director, Aidem Ventures, many more Indian companies will be seeking global media platforms. "As India continues to integrate strongly with the world economy, more and more Indian companies and brands will want to expand their footprint globally, and will seek robust global media platforms to build their brands," says Khanchandani.

"Aidem, with its extensive experience and track record in the news genre, is best equipped to partner with Al Jazeera in its foray into the Indian market," he adds.

Al Jazeera English was granted the license by the Indian government, to broadcast in India, in December 2010. Al Jazeera English currently operates a bureau and a distribution office in New Delhi.

The channel, which was launched in November 2006, operates 65 bureaus across the world, and is available in more than 100 countries.
