The magazine will increase its cover price from Rs 40 to Rs 50 in January 2012.
The Caravan, which was re-launched after 22 years, will celebrate its second anniversary in December 2011. To commemorate the occasion, the magazine will bring out a special issue in January 2012. Delhi Press, which publishes the magazine, will also increase the cover price of the English narrative style magazine from Rs 40 to Rs 50, the same month.
The magazine is also in the process of developing a 100-page strong style supplement that will be released with the magazine in February 2012. The style supplement will have content on style, fashion, design, and lifestyle from India and around the world, as well as leisure and travel.
"We will approach style, fashion, travel, and design through a cultural prism, narrating our stories as critics and storytellers. Our photo essays on fashion and design, will explore style through the lens of reportage and art photography that will both engage and entertain the fashionistas," says Anant Nath, managing editor, The Caravan, and director, Delhi Press Group.
Along with the website, there will be some changes in the print magazine's design, as well. "The changes in the website and the magazine are being done to incorporate learnings and observations of the past two years so that The Caravan is seen not only as setting a benchmark for long-form narrative writing, but also for its design and online reading experience," adds Nath.
The Caravan was re-launched in 2010 with a print run of 18,000. Today, it has a circulation of 42,000 copies per issue, the company claims. The magazine's online traffic, too, has grown from 1,00,000 page views in January 2011, to 3,00,000 in October 2011.
