Amagi Media steps into Kanpur and Pune

While for Pune, the specialist has partnered with Zoom, UTV Movies, UTV Bindass, Aaj Tak, Headlines Today and UTV Action, in Kanpur, Amagi has partnered with IBN7.

Amagi Media, the local television advertising specialist, has joined hands with nine MSOs in Pune and two MSOs in Kanpur to foray into the Tier II markets. With this, Amagi will now be present across 28 cities in India.

While for Pune, the specialist has partnered with Zoom, UTV Movies, UTV Bindass, Aaj Tak, Headlines Today and UTV Action, in Kanpur, Amagi has partnered with IBN7.

Amagi claims that this tie up will cover more than 92 per cent of the total viewership across these two cities.

It has already taken on board a few SMEs and regional businesses in the cities, including brands such as Kaspersky Labs, White Sands, Shri Siddivinayak Buildcon, Alcon Builders, Appu Ghar, Bunty Properties, Ekbote Furnitures, Kothari Jewellers and Slim Fast in Pune. In Kanpur, Canary London, Dakshanam, Doon International, GAML Consultant, Kadambari Jewellers, LPD Jewellers, MCS Honda, Sona Chandi and VGSIO have been signed on.

K A Srinivasan, co-founder, Amagi Media, says, "Pune, being one of the big cities, has been high on our priority list. With every other big city covered in HSM, Pune was the last frontier. This also completes our rest of Maharashtra option."

"Kanpur has a large SME population, which is ideally suited for us to penetrate Uttar Pradesh. With Kanpur as the gateway to UP, we expect to quickly expand across UP," he adds.

According to industry experts, the local advertising market is valued at about Rs 4,500 crore and remains largely untapped by TV.

For the records, Amagi's content bouquet includes AajTak, Headlines Today, Zoom TV, IBN7, UTV Movies, UTV Action, UTV Bindass, Udaya Movies, Udaya Comedy, Udaya Music and Maa Telugu group of channels.
