Embassy of Ireland appoints Carat Media as media AOR

The business will be handled out of the agency's Mumbai office. The agency will aim to promote Ireland as a tourist destination.

The Embassy of Ireland has roped in Carat Media Services to handle the media duties to promote Ireland as a tourist, business and educational destination. The business will be handled out of Carat's Mumbai office.

Commenting on the win, Himanka Das, senior vice-president, West operations, Carat India, says, "We are delighted to extend our partnership with the Embassy of Ireland in India and look forward to creating a stronger audience pull to visit Ireland as a tourist destination and also to promote business and education through holistic solutions that are media-neutral."

The island of Ireland (which includes both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland) receives 8 million visitors each year, with approximately 5 million of those coming from Great Britain. With ease of visa process to visit Ireland, the India office of Tourism Ireland has planned out a series of interesting innovative promotion campaigns for the year 2012 to increase awareness of Ireland in India, and to promote tourism, attract business entrepreneurs and attract students for education.

Feilim McLaughlin, ambassador of Ireland to India, says, "We were impressed by the strategic thinking demonstrated by Carat Media's recommendation on differential solutions for the challenging objectives we are targeting."
