The mandate before the media agency is to accelerate the growth of Yebhi.com to further strengthen its brand presence in the country.
Online shopping portal Yebhi.com has brought on board MPG to handle its media planning and buying duties. The development follows after the company evaluated the credentials of a few other agencies.
The mandate before the flagship media agency of the Havas Group will be to help Yebhi.com further accelerate its growth and establish a bigger brand footprint.
On the win, Anita Nayyar, chief executive officer, Havas Media, India and South Asia, says, "Yebhi.com has been a most promising player in the online space. She tells afaqs! that MPG's quality of work and past experience in the category helped the agency's bid to win the business.
"When it comes to MPG's tools and processes, we have a robust media tool kit. It spells a lot of quality because it begins with marketing and not media," she says.
Launched in 2009, Yebhi.com is one of the leading home, lifestyle and fashion e-retailers in the country. With over two million registered users, the portal serves over 10 transactions in a minute, it claims.
Earlier, in July, Big Shoe Bazaar, the brand owner of the e-commerce portal, raised Rs 100 crore ($20 million) in Series C round of funding led by Fidelity Growth Partners India and Qualcomm Incorporated, through its venture capital investment arm, Qualcomm Ventures. In 2010, the company raised Rs 10 crore ($2 million) of Series A funding by Nexus Venture Partners, followed by a second round of funding of Rs 40 crore ($8 million) in 2011 led by Catamaran Ventures.
