In a bid to strengthen its APAC leadership, Mindshare has elevated R Gowthaman and Sudipto Roy. While Gowthaman will don the role of chief operating officer, Asia Pacific, Roy will occupy Gowthaman's previous position at the agency, that is, regional chief client officer, Asia Pacific.

In his new role, Gowthaman will be responsible for further expanding Mindshare's portfolio of services from consumer activation to big data management and effective business models.

Both of them will operate from Singapore.

Ashutosh Srivastava, chairman and CEO, APAC and growth markets, Mindshare, says about the development, "We are privileged to have highly talented people like Gowthaman and Roy stepping into these roles - over the years, they have developed trusted relationships with our clients, by focusing on what they value most."

He stressed that the designations were very crucial for the agency at present, and would help Mindshare continue to lead the industry at a time, where understanding of media, technology and effective data usage are becoming more and more central to brand success.

Speaking about his new role, Gowthaman says, "I am extremely delighted to take on this role. I am especially looking forward to designing and rolling out new work streams that provide Mindshare's clients with great new opportunities and accelerate sustainable growth of our business. Despite our scale and size, we are increasingly behaving more and more like a start-up - provocative, hungry, adaptive, full of energy, all underpinned by a promise to be the agency of the future."

Previously, Gowthaman was earlier chief client officer APAC and CEO South and South East Asia, Mindshare, and oversaw all key accounts in the region. He was instrumental in setting up the agency's emerging marketing activation unit in the ASEAN region, by partnering with Geometry Global.

Meanwhile, Roy, who has been with Mindshare for two and a half years as managing partner of client leadership and partnerships, will be responsible for the growing the agency's relationship with key clients in the region. In his earlier role, Roy handled Unilever, Kimerly Clark, Lenovo among other such key accounts.

On the promotion, Roy says, "This move is exciting as it enables me focus on what I really love. We have a great opportunity to drive cutting-edge thinking for Mindshare and our clients and fundamentally re-imagine how we think about media services while continually raising the standards for how media agencies can drive ROI."

In the APAC region, Mindshare has been collaborating with many potential companies working in areas such as emerging economies, analytics, media technology, e-commerce, B2B, social media and mobile.

Some of Mindshare's big-ticket clients include Google, Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft and Yahoo!.
