Colosceum gets Siddharth Anand Kumar as Creative Head - Fiction

He will be responsible for all creative operations, including, scripting, on-screen talent, and editorial.

Colosceum Media, a television production company, has strengthened its capabilities in the scripted (fiction) show formats by bringing Siddharth Anand Kumar on board as creative head - fiction.

The appointment aims at enhancing Colosceum Media's position as a robust entertainment company supplemented with quality talent and experience across all genres of television production. At Colosceum, he will work closely with co-founder and CEO, Lalit Sharma and will lead the fiction genre initiatives for the group. In his new role, he will be responsible for all creative operations, including, scripting, on-screen talent, and editorial.

On his appointment, Sharma says, "I am confident that we shall be a unique and compelling combination, providing broadcasters with a choice of international quality fiction programming with exceptional story-telling and high-level production excellence. Within the industry, we enjoy being a trusted partner for non-scripted content and envision increasing our footprint in the scripted genre as well this year."

Anand, meanwhile, is confident that his partnership with Colosceum will result in some exceptional fiction television content for India to watch. "I am enthusiastically looking forward to working with Colosceum and to take its fiction shows to the next-level as 'must-watch' Indian television." Kumar is currently directing 'Shastri Sisters' on Colors. His past achievements include directing the initial episodes of the successful series 'Mahabharat' on Star Plus. He studied filmmaking at Hampshire College in the US and has written and directed the feature film Let's Enjoy (2004). He has also worked as an associate director on Kamasutra (directed by Mira Nair) and as a director of photography (DOP) and editor on Rajdhani (Star Plus).

In past, Kumar has also been curator of India's first digital film festival, The Digital Talkies Festival. For the record, the deal was negotiated by content and talent management company, Tulsea Pictures, which represents both Kumar and Colosceum.

Colosceum Media is known for various popular non-scripted television formats such as Masterchef India, Roadies, Splitsvilla. Over the past seven years, Colosceum has produced shows like Jai Shree Krishna (Colors), Jamunia (NDTV Imagine), Meera (NDTV Imagine), Bandhan (Colors), Shakuntala (Star One) and Bani Ishq Da Kalma (Colors).
