India Today Group announces new organisational structure

Media conglomerate India Today Group has announced a new organisational structure, which is set to "empower COOs and give them an opportunity to run their businesses with more independence" as mentioned in an internal email (confirmed by sources). It is effective this month onwards - Rahul Shaw is COO – television (elevated), Salil Kumar COO – Digital (holding position since 2012) and Manoj Sharma is COO – Magazines(elevated).

Various group businesses will be operated by the aforementioned COOs (chief operating officers) who will report to Kalli Purie, vice chairperson and managing director, India Today Group.

Kalli will continue to report directly to Aroon Purie, chairman and editor-in-chief of the India Today Group. She will be supported by Dinesh Bhatia, group CFO, in strategy related matters and additional group functions - HR, administration, security and IT. Bhatia will continue to report to Kalli with "a dotted line to" Aroon.
