Great Lifestyle Brands is here

An afaqs! initiative, Great Lifestyle Brands comprises a conference and an awards ceremony. It is presented by INDIA TV and powered by MTV.

Witness 'great' at the first edition of Great Lifestyle Brands (GLB), an event by afaqs!. It's true that a brand and service of choice says something about its user. And it's the brand that takes it upon itself to touch lives. The initiative aims to help marketers, agencies and all in the business of brand communication review the best practices that go into creating truly great lifestyle brands. The day-long event will be held at Crowne Plaza, Gurugram on November 15, 2019.

The event includes nine sessions including panel discussions, face-to-face interviews and standalone sessions. The sessions will be followed by the GLB awards.

The day opens with an address by Sreekant Khandekar, co-founder, afaqs!, followed by a standalone session by Technopak's Saloni Nangia on ‘The technology game: How the spread of technology has changed the business of lifestyle brands’.

Next on the list is a panel discussion with the agenda, 'Do marketers have a millennial fixation?'. The session will see participation from Amit Tiwari, vice-president, marketing, Havells India; Bimal Kumar Sahoo, country marketing manager – HP; Dheeraj Sinha, managing director, India and chief strategy officer, Leo Burnett, South Asia, and Sandeep Shukla, head, marketing, India and global operations, Jaquar Group. The session will be moderated by Ashwini Gangal, executive editor, afaqs!.

The next session is an interview with Pallavi Singh, marketing director, BMW India on 'How top-end automobile brands engage consumers’.

This interview will be followed by a standalone session by Anita Nayyar, chief executive officer, India and South East Asia - Havas Media Group on the subject of, 'Reaching the well-heeled Indian' and how the challenge of getting the message through have changed over the years.

The next session, also a standalone one, will be, ‘Class brands, mass prescription’, presented by Sudipto Chowdhuri, executive president, sales — INDIA TV.

'Does the aura of legacy still work?', is the topic of the next panel discussion, which includes Bani Saluja, vice-president, head - marketing and travel and lifestyle services, American Express; Rohit Ohri, group chairman and chief executive officer, FCB India, and Vikram Tanna, head of Advertising Sales and Business, head of Regional Clusters, South Asia - Discovery. The panel will be moderated by Sreekant Khandekar.

A standalone-cum-interview about 'Keeping in tune with Young India - MTV Youth Marketing Report', will be conducted by Ashwini Gangal post the panel discussion.

'Royal Enfield', yes, the hunk of a motorcycle brand, is at the centre of our next session. It is a standalone presentation by RE's global marketing head, Shubhranshu Singh.

The final session of the day, 'Being Indian' involves Amit Kekre, national strategy head – DDB Mudra Group; Konia Khanna, head of marketing, Swarovski India; Minoo Phakey, head, Strategic Marketing and Investment, Dabur and Vani Gupta Dandia, founder, CherryPeachPlum Growth Partners. This session, too, will be moderated by Sreekant Khandekar.

The sessions of the day are followed by GLB awards. The award categories include mainstream media, visual merchandising, social media and experiential. More details can be accessed here.
