Amla met with an accident while driving his way to a vacation.

Rajesh Amla, business head, Percept Rural passed away yesterday evening after he met with an accident on the Delhi-Chandigarh highway. He was on his way for a vacation along with his family. While his wife is still recovering at the hospital, his sister also succumbed to the injury.

With over 24 years of experience, at Percept Out-Of-Home, he was responsible for driving rural marketing initiatives and tapping the growing market of smaller villages, towns and cities. Amla in his role had successfully launched leading brands that have captured the market, set up new businesses turning them into profitable propositions and created new concepts and strategies.

He is particularly remembered for providing rural unique solutions for various political parties -- Congress party during the 1998 elections and for the BJP in 1999.

Equipped with an MBA from the University of Lucknow, Amla had worked for various companies such as Kores (India) Limited, United Express Service Private Limited, VOW Ltd (Jain TV), Rural Eight (Channel 8), C S Direkt Events & Exhibitions, APCA (Asia Pacific Communications Associates Pvt. Ltd) and Infinity Advertising Services where he successfully spearheaded campaigns for Airtel, HBO launch and Nokia.
