Rohit Samarth becomes head of Percept OOH's rural vertical

His new mandate will involve looking after all communication and marketing strategies revolving around the rural vertical of Percept OOH.

Percept Out Of Home (OOH) has roped in Rohit Samarth as the business head for its rural vertical. Samarth, who will be based in Mumbai, will report to Sanjay Pareek, president, Percept OOH.

Samarth joins in from Linterland (the rural communication division of Lintas India), where he was director.

"I have developed some vision and strategic thinking for my new role. Development of strong teams is one of the focus areas. It is my sincere belief that Percept OOH's rural division will grow into one of the most competent and respected rural communication solutions agencies over the next two years," says Samarth in an official communiqué.

Talking about Samarth's appointment, Sanjay Pareek, president, Percept OOH, mentions, "With Samarth joining in, the rural team is complete, and the task which Rajesh Amla (ex-head, rural vertical, Percept OOH, and who passed away recently) has envisaged for the retail vertical, will be now be lead by him."

Pareek further adds, "Samarth's experience will reinforce the direction given to rural vertical, which is already a great force to reckon within the rural business. And, with him on board, the rural team will set new standards in rural business."

Having more than 25 years of experience in the industry, Samarth has had the opportunity to work with some of the largest and the most recognised brands in the country.

Samarth started his career with Nestle India, and later worked with various other companies like Media Workshop India, Amar Ujala Prakashan, India Infrastructure Publishing, UCP Integrated Marketing Solutions, and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) before shifting to Linterland.

He graduated in Economics from Mumbai University and has completed advanced diploma in media buying and planning from the Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahmedabad.
