JCDecaux India appoints Alok Duggal as GM, sales

Duggal will be instrumental in bringing on board new brands that haven't been exposed to the power of outdoor until now.

JCDecaux India has made a senior-level appointment by bringing on board Alok Duggal as general manager, sales. He will be heading both street furniture and airport sales, JCDecaux, in the country. In his previous assignment, Duggal was the head of marketing for ING Bank in India.

A post-graduate in sales, with marketing specialisation from IMT (Institute of Management Technology), Ghaziabad, Duggal has 11 years of experience in formulating key sales and marketing strategies.

He has spent around three years at ICICI Bank, and eight years at ING Bank, before moving to JCDecaux. At ING, he was a part of the core team that was instrumental in setting up the sales and marketing function at the bank. He left ING Bank as head, marketing and branding.

Commenting on his new role, Duggal says, "This will be a new experience for me, as the role involves interacting with multiple brands. The focus is on providing complete solution to brands, in terms of visibility and brand salience, be it in Delhi and Mumbai (street furniture), or at the Bengaluru International Airport."

Frederic Brun, chief operating officer, airports, JCDecaux India, says, "We are pleased to welcome Duggal. Our teams have been continuously working to develop innovative media solutions focussed on premium visibility. Airport advertising is a dynamic market, and I am convinced that Duggal will bring immediate value to our business as well as the industry."

Dipankar Chatterjee, chief operating officer, street furniture, JCDecaux India, adds, "I am confident that Duggal will bring a fresh perspective, and implement our international strategy of network sales. Further, an integrated approach will emerge as he will be heading both street furniture, as well as airport sales."

Pramod Bhandula, managing director, JCDecaux India, adds, "Duggal has full understanding of brand marketing and appreciates the importance of outdoor. He will be instrumental in bringing on board all the brands which have been missing the potential that OOH offers. We believe that the entire team will benefit from his experience. I wish him luck in this new assignment."

Duggal is a firm believer in the words of Michaelangelo: "The greater danger for most of us is, not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we achieve it."
