Brands play on Zomato, Swiggy's brief outage
Users were unable to place orders and faced payment related issues while using the food delivery apps. Here is how netizens and brands reacted.
Food delivery apps Zomato and Swiggy faced a temporary glitch recently. Both these apps went down for almost an hour after a glitch in Amazon Web Services, an IT management company that is used by multiple online platforms. Users were unable to place orders and faced payment related issues as well.
Online platform downdetector showed as many as 3,030 reports of outages for Zomato in India and 789 for Swiggy at the same time. The issue was soon resolved and both apps went back to their normal functioning.
However, social media users and brands had a gala time making most of this breakdown by coming up with creative memes.
