OYO, Dunzo, Nearbuy, and Xiaomi interview Amazon Prime Video's Srikant ‘The Family Man’ Tiwari for a job

If he could only upgrade his wi-fi connection.

You would thinking acing a job interview is a cakewalk for seasoned spies. But, we’re talking about Srikant Tiwari, a senior analyst at the fictional Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell (TASC), which is a part of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India from the hit Amazon show ‘The Family Man’.

Why’s he giving job interviews, we’re as clueless as you are unless you count the trailer for the show’s second season where Srikant has changed careers and working at a corporate office.

But, we assume before he scored that gig, he must have given interviews at other companies too. Amazon Prime Video was kind enough to share with us some of Srikant’s interview experiences:

OYO x Ritesh Agarwal

Talk about explaining why you wish to move away from a lucrative government job to join the private sector, Srikant does his best to convince OYO CEO Ritesh Agarwal as to why he’s a good fit at the hotel chain. Also, the scene where the video lagged because of one wi-fi service and four users? We say it’s “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki”.

Xiaomi x Manu Jain

From getting the pronunciation of the technology company right and buttering up Manu over the Mi products to haggling for higher compensation and once again facing wi-fi issues, it’s one hilarious interview. The highlight of the video was Srikant describing his previous job role.

Dunzo x Kabeer Biswas

Srikant must be desperate for a job for we’ve not seen many folks who are as patronising as he is during this interview. When it comes to “Describe yourself…”, Srikant’s answer is a lesson in how you must not answer this question. Also, even we’re wondering whether it’s Lonavala or Lokhandwala.

Nearbuy x Ankur Warikoo

“Mujhe free ki cheeze bahut pasand hai… matlab discount ki,” is the answer our middle-class spy offers to Ankur Warikoo, founder of hyperlocal e-commerce company Nearbuy. Talk about radical honesty.

If only Srikant had upgraded his wi-fi, he might have scored one of the four interviews from above.

Sushant Sreeram, Director, Marketing at Amazon Prime Video for India, said, “As India’s much-loved video streaming service, we have had the opportunity to build immersive worlds for our viewers with blockbuster series like The Family Man. A big part of building that ongoing relationship with our viewers is to bring elements from reel life to real life and vice--versa.”

“Srikant Tiwari on a job-hunt is just that – a much-loved character doing something many of us have experienced in real life. We had a ball working with leaders of some of the most exciting startups in the country right now, putting together this fun job-hunt campaign for our customers. Who is going to hire the not-so-minimum guy? Tune in to Amazon Prime Video on the 4th of June to find out!”

The second season of The Family Man will drop on Amazon Prime Video on June 4, 2021.
