Media has appointed R Giridhar group editor of its business publications. Giridhar will edit the monthly magazines, Industry 2.0 and Logistics 2.0, out of Delhi.
Industry 2.0 focuses on manufacturing, while Logistics 2.0 covers issues related to transportation, supply chain management and logistics.
Speaking to afaqs!, Giridhar says, "The titles, Industry 2.0 and Logistics 2.0, have been around for seven and three years, respectively. They are well known brands in their respective fields. My focus will be to serve the different needs of the readers more efficiently by offering enhanced content. Both titles draw a fairly good amount of traction, so we just need to keep improving the content that is on offer."
R GiridharGiridhar has more than 18 years of experience in business to business (B2B) and business to consumer (B2C) media products. He was earlier working as an independent consultant for various publications for a year. Before that, he was editorial director, IDG India, and editor in chief, Electronic Engineering Times Asia. He is also credited with being the founder editor of Information Communications World magazine.
He says, "I was looking for a full-time opportunity after being an independent consultant for a year or so. The fact that 9.9 Media has recently acquired publications such as Digit and SKOAR! convinced me that the organisation is buzzing with activity. It will be great to work with some bright minds."
Giridhar believes that the titles he will edit should be seen as "specialised-speciality" magazines, rather than technology or business titles. Both magazines cater to professionals. He says he believes that the real challenge will be to find capable and talented people interested in reporting and covering the content brought out by the two publications.
Pramath Raj Sinha, founder and managing director, 9.9 Media, welcomed Giridhar on board, saying in an official communiqué, "As a seasoned editor who has worked both overseas and in India, Giridhar brings with him unique experiences and skills. We are looking forward to leveraging these in our business publications."
