Chibb will be responsible for conceptualisation, content creation and programming for NGC and Fox History & Entertainment
National Geographic Channel (NGC) has got on-board Ramon Chibb as senior vice-president, content. Chibb will take up his new assignment from June 15. In his new role, he will be responsible for conceptualisation, content creation and programming for the two channels, NGC and Fox History & Entertainment.
Commenting on Chibb's appointment, Keertan Adyanthaya, managing director, Fox International Channels India, says, "Chibb brings with him hands-on experience and an in-depth understanding of the television industry, in both niche and mass segments. We look forward to taking advantage of his strengths, to get more diverse and engaging content for both the channels."
In an official communiqué, talking about his mandate at NGC, Chibb, says, "NGC offers an incredibly strong and dynamic line-up of channels. My primary focus will be to keep up and better the rich and varied content for both the channels."
Chibb has about 20 years of work experience, of which he has spent nearly 15 years in media. Prior to joining NGC, he was with UTV Bindass as vice-president, head of content and operations. He has also worked with Zee Telefilms in the capacity of vice-president - head of content, new media. He was also the founding director and partner at QRT Production.
In his long career, Chibb has produced and directed shows such as AR Rahman Unplugged - a curtain raiser to Doordarshan's Golden Jubilee celebrations. His other notable work includes Mission Navy for NGC.
Interestingly, Chibb has a Defence background -- before crossing over to the media and entertainment space, he was a major in the Indian Army.
