IBNLive CEO Rajan Srinivasan calls it quits
In 2010, he was promoted as CEO of IBNLive.com and was managing mandates including head of sales for MoneyControl.
Rajan Srinivasan, who had had joined Web18 as vice president, sales, in 2007, has quit the company. In 2010, he was promoted to CEO of IBNLive.com and was managing mandates including head of sales for MoneyControl.
Srinivasan has more than 18 years of experience in the media industry, including nine in the digital space. He has handled multiple portfolios across sales and marketing and worked in three cities during this time.
He has worked with brands of high local and global pedigree in various media like print, television, events and exhibitions and new media. His first stint was with Indian Express Newspapers and he moved on from there to join Sony Entertainment Television in its first year of operations in India (in 1996). After a short assignment at BBC Worldwide as account manager, he joined Microland's Media 2 India (one of the nation's earliest ad networks). He then moved into the company's horizontal portal, Indya.com and later moved base from Mumbai to Bengaluru to join MTV Networks India.
Lakshmi Narasimhan, CEO, Web18, says, "Rajan has been with our web business for over eight years and has been a pillar of strength for our business. He has taken on every challenge we have thrown at him and has come out tops. He has been an integral part of our team and has made a big difference to us in many ways. I would like to wish him the very best in all his future endeavours."
Srinivasan adds, "I am proud of what we achieved over the past many years at Web18. I am more than grateful for the immense support I've received from the Network18 team, our customers and our partners. Clearly, this is a rather emotional and tough call but I am happy to know that the Web18 suite of products are well positioned as well as future ready and wish them every success."
When he was 18 months into this most recent assignment, Network18 (then Television 18) offered him a commercial role for an overseas operation and this saw Srinivasan spend around two years in New York. In June 2005, he returned to India to join Network18's internet arm, Web18 Software Services.
