If someone doesn’t understand Marathi, Liftman is dubbed in other languages too: Manish Aggarwal

We spoke to the business head of Zee5 about the launch of a new Marathi web-series - Liftman.

Zee5, the over the top (OTT) app by Zee Entertainment Enterprises has launched a new Marathi web-series, Liftman. The web series of 10 episodes running in a short duration of 8-10 minutes, takes the audience on a humorous lift ride of one-liners and jokes.

If someone doesn’t understand Marathi, Liftman is dubbed in other languages too: Manish Aggarwal

Manish AggarwalTalking about the marketing strategy for Liftman, Manish Aggarwal, business head, Zee5, says, “For Liftman, we are going to do regional 360-degree marketing. So, Maharashtra is one of the priority markets for us. We have seen numbers coming in from Pune and Nashik so we will reach out to the regional audience.”

With regard to how the non-Maharashtrian audience can enjoy the new web-series, he says, “The good thing is, even if someone doesn’t understand Marathi, the content is also dubbed in the language I want. I am enjoying Liftman in Hindi. It’s my second language; same with Kallachirippu. I binge watched the entire show in Hindi. I don’t understand Tamil, but I do enjoy thriller as a genre. So, I could still watch it and today, no other platform is offering this.”

Zee5 is going to launch a few more originals and movies in the coming days. “There are a lot of movie releases and then original content. The biggest one will be ‘Lockdown’ which will be unique and never-done-before kind of a content which will see notable rappers like Badshah and singers from Bollywood. From a West Bengal perspective, there is something very specific that we will come out with and then TN will see more shows as we cut across geographies”, Aggarwal states.
