Amazon Prime Video tags Zomato, Tinder, Fevicol to announce Gully Boy

Some of the brands tagged came up with raps of their own in response.

Amazon Prime Video has announced that Zoya Akhtar directed Gully Boy will be streaming on its platform. The movie also stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in central roles and to tease the release of the movie on the streaming platform, Prime Video’s Twitter account has been creating buzz by tagging other brands and using lines familiar to the movie.

To tease its newest arrival, it put out this tweet first

Soon they began using popular lines from the movie to symbolise what they were talking about

And all of a sudden, Prime Video started pulling other brands into the mix!

It started with Zomato...

Then it was McDonald’s turn

There were a few unexpected brands in the mix

Flight aggregator MakeMyTrip found mention too

Even food chain specialist Jumbo King was not spared

We don’t know exactly on what basis Amazon gave shout-outs to brands...

All we know is that Amazon had something up their sleeve...

Even TVF’s popular show Pitchers was referenced...

More beer references

There were some deadly puns involved...

Even American brands weren’t spared...

And to top it all off...

While it’s unclear if the efforts from Amazon’s end are a co-branding effort or if they went around randomly tagging brands, it was quite a laugh when some of the brands replied, some of them even throwing in raps of their own!
