Goenka mentioned in his mail that, Sindhwani joins at the beginning of a crucial (financial) year: one that starts with the exciting election season and continues through the cricket World Cup.

“It is also a year when, arguably, public trust in the news media has hit an all-time low and when recognized news media brands are often being baited and are getting caught picking political sides. Sanjay shares my belief that our group has been successful in significantly expanding the footprint of our various titles because we haven’t walked into that trap. And because we have been true to our values of fairness and courage, not only in our coverage of politics but across every beat,” he adds in his mail.

As per a source close to the development, Sanjay Sindhwani will report to the Group CEO, George Varghese.

After brief stints at Bradma of India and Usha India, he joined Bennett & Coleman as an investment analyst in 1994. In 1999 he became editor, product and brand head at Times Internet. Sindhwani is an electronics engineer from Nagpur University and did his MBA in finance from the Institute of Management Studies.
