Srivastava will be the new head of sales and marketing at Maruti while Kalsi joins the executive board.

Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) has announced a ‘rejig’ in its leadership. It has formed an executive board which includes – R S Kalsi - senior executive officer for sales, marketing, service, logistics, Rajiv Gandhi - senior executive officer for Production, Ajay Seth - senior executive officer for finance and legal, CV Raman - senior executive officer for R&D, and Rajesh Uppal - senior executive officer for HR. K Yamaguchi is the Japanese director in the newly formed board.

Meanwhile, to replace R S Kalsi, India’s largest car manufacturer elevated Shashank Srivastava as the new head of sales and marketing. In the conference held over the weekend at Kochi, the leadership announced that Srivastava’s appointment is effective immediately.

Srivastava started his professional career with MSIL and was elevated as the executive director, international marketing in 2012. Before that, he served the auto giant as chief general manager, sales and marketing. Srivastava has an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad.

Kalsi, who will now play an advisory role in sales and marketing of MSIL became the sales and marketing head in 2014. He has spent more than 35 years at Maruti and has played a vital role in setting up businesses like Maruti Insurance, Maruti Finance, True Value, and Nexa among many others.

Before joining MSIL, Kalsi worked with Tata Engineering and Locomotive (now Tata Motors) for a while. He is an engineer from the Delhi College of Engineering.
