Bhaskar Bhat, MD, Titan calls it quits

Bhaskar Bhat, managing director, Titan has recently moved on after spending almost 36 years with the country's largest watchmaker company. If reports are to be believed, September 30 was his last day at the Bangalore-based company.

An IIT Madras-IIMA graduate, Bhat joined the Tata Tata-owned company back in the year 1983.

Titan was started in 1984 as a joint venture between the Tata Group and Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO). Over the last three decades, the company had diversified into a whole lot of lifestyle products including jewellery, eye-wear, and many accessories, perfume under the Skinn brand besides saris(Taneira), the latest product. Many consider Bhat to be the strongest pillar of the company's successful journey.
