Popular Prakashan has published over two thousand titles in English and Marathi. These books are part of their recent foray into children's books to bring high class content at affordable rates for Indian children. The Mom, Dad and I series bring home the importance of spontaneous learning. Like making children understand the sequence of events and the concept of time like waking up in the morning, eating breakfast, going to school, coming back home, go out of playing, eating dinner and sleeping. This understanding inculcates discipline among children and teaches them the learning habit.
These books are reasonably priced at Rs. 50/-each
The books teach parents the secrets of building a positive learning milieu for children in their early years. "During this crucial period, a positive learning environment is vital for children's overall development. We have worked with child education experts who will help parents build a positive learning curve for them through the Mom, Dad and I series," said Manish Purohit, CEO, Popular Prakashan
"The books also give you practical tips, to help you interact with your little one about seeing, touching, smelling and hearing. They also recommend parents regularly visit playgrounds with children to help them build physical strength. Slides, seesaws and merry-go-rounds are great for physical development," he added.
"The Mom, Dad and I" series recommends parents ask children to do spinning, rocking and balancing exercises. These workouts sharpen children's brain. The books also suggest parents inculcate the habit of exploring nature-- flowers, grass, trees, beaches and clouds-- in children. "There is no better teacher on earth than Mother Nature," said Aditya Afzulpurkar, COO of Brainworks
There are other tips as well. Like singing rhymes together that repeat words and numbers. For example, Twinkle Twinkle little star; One two, buckle my shoe. "These songs reinforce patterns in words, sounds and fun ways to practice language and math skills," adds Aditya.
