India's largest nanotechnology conference and exhibition, AIT Nano 2009 will be hosted by Ansal Institute of Technology, Gurgaon from October 12-16, 2009. Ansal Institute of Technology is organizing its 2nd International Conference on Nanotechnology this year, as a follow up of major discussions during the December 2007 Conference, under the guidance and leadership of Prof Singh

Inaugurated by Mr. Sushil Ansal, Chairman, Ansal API, the conference will commence with a three-day Indo-French workshop, highlighting the need for Nanotechnology in India.
AIT Nano 2009 is supported by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. Dignitaries such as Dr. Jagdish Narayan from North Carolina State University, USA, Prof. D.D. Sharma from IISc, Bangalore, Prof. A.K. Sood from IISc, Bangalore, Dr. Pushan Ayyub from TIFR, Bombay, Dr. Lionel Vayssieres, Executive Editor, International Journal of Nanotechnology, Prof. Alain Cappy, University of Science and Technology, Dr. Stuart Croll, North Dakota State University, USA, Dr. D Kanjilal, IUAC along with other renowned scholars and researchers would be participating in the prestigious five-day event.
On the occasion of the inaugural ceremony of the Conference, Prof M.P Singh, Director, Ansal Institute of Technology said, “We at AIT pride ourselves on constantly being at the forefront of educational innovation. There is a lot of talk about Nanotechnology and its benefits to everyday life. AIT Nano 2009 brings together some of the best minds on the subject. The proceedings of Nanotechnology Conference, after peer review, would also be brought out in a special issue of the prestigious International Journal of Nanotechnology. AIT, earlier organized two International Conferences, one on Industry - Academic Interaction and the other on Nanotechnology in 2006 and 2007 respectively.
Highlighting the significance of the conference, Dr. A.K. Yadav, Dean, AIT, said, “We at AIT believe that such International meets, act as a catalyst in creating awareness about the key global issues faced by the world. Also, through the voices of some of the greatest scholars from across the world, it helps in highlighting the developments in the field of science and technology, which could be used for the welfare of mankind.”
The two-day Indo - French Workshop on October 12 & 13 will attract leading French, Indian & other overseas experts to make invited presentations on selected themes such as- Transition from Nanoscience to Nanotechnology to Nanomanufacturing. This will be followed by the two - day International Conference, in which leading researchers from India & overseas will present latest advancement in their researches.
