Estetica, an international hair fashion magazine, considered to be at the vanguard of the hair and grooming business, has constantly re-defined the world of high fashion for over 60 years. In India since 2009, the avant-garde publication along with Schwarzkopf Professional, a global leader in hair and beauty brands, is now set to recognise some of the country's most outstanding talents in the hair care profession that includes stylists, hairdressers, technicians, spas and salons, who have been creating waves in the Indian hair couture sphere. Some of the most celebrated players in the beauty and hair care space will be vying for these prestigious awards, which will be given under three categories - Best Hairdresser of the Year, Color Technician of the Year and Upcoming Hairdresser of the Year. The winners would be selected based on their creativity, innovation and service excellence.

To apply, interested candidates can fill up the nomination forms for the categories at http://www.esteticaindia.in. The last date of submissions is November 30th, 2011, at 6 pm.

This year's jury is expected to be graced by style icons and art aficionados including fashion designers Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna, artist Kalyani Chawla and President, Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) Sunil Sethi, among others.

The prestigious awards will be given in the following categories:

1) Best hairdresser of the year - The winner of this category will be a person who demonstrates excellence in creativity and salon leadership, team work, business acumen and client management.

2) Colour Technician of the year - The winner of this category will be a person who demonstrates technical excellence, promotion of technical services and management of the salon’s colour department.

3) Upcoming Hairdresser of the year - The winner of this category will be a freshman in the industry who demonstrates inventiveness in hair cut, styling, colouring and client servicing.

Apart from these three main categories, awards will also be given for the Best Salon Chain, Thalgo Popular Spa, Best Hair Academy, Best Salon Design, Most Creative Make-up Artist, Jaguar cutting edge stylist of the year and the Hall of Fame Hair Artist of the Year. These awards would be judged by the jury and independent consumer surveys.
