Sony India unveils the new VAIO series

Sony India Pvt. Ltd. has introduced its new range of the next generation VAIO notebooks, which offers products that hold the distinction of being the world’s slimmest, equipped with the thinnest LCD and designed with unique built in camera. The VAIO is a perfect blend of stylish, lightweight design and powerful audio, video and information technology capabilities to enable a complete multi-media experience. The new range of notebooks includes five models selected from the VAIO TX, S, FS and FJ series - VGN-TX17GP/B, VGN-TX16GP/W, VGN-S56GP/S, VGN-FS35GP and VGN-FJ57GP.

Ideal for both business productivity and home entertainment, the new VAIO series was unveiled amidst an enthralling performance by India’s first stand up comedian and theatre artist Vir Das. The performance was filled with exciting moments, which elucidated the concept of the VAIO World and its entertainment features in an extremely effective manner.

VAIO VGN-TX17GP/B and VGN-TX16GP/W

Weighing a mere 1.24 kg (VGN-TX17GP/B) and 1.26 kg (VGN-TX16GP/W), the new TX series has the twin distinction of being the world’s slimmest1 and equipped with the world’s thinnest (4.5 mm) Clear Bright LCD. This substantial accomplishment is attributed to White LED, which allows the light guide to be slimmer and lighter. Adding to its portability is the ‘gravity joint’ hinge concept that converges to form a beautifully balanced masterpiece of modern design, uniformly and unbelievably slim from every angle.

Made from carbon fibre (the material used in airplanes and race cars) and carbon composite, the TX-series is 200 per cent more solid and 30 per cent lighter (than ordinary plastic), enhancing strength and reducing weight. Equipped with the world’s longest battery life2 (of upto 8.5 to 9 hrs) with the built-in optical drive using the supplied battery, the VAIO TX ensures maximum productivity for mobile professionals on their journey.

TX-series is the perfect replacement of portable AV player with an Instant AV Mode button, which empowers playback of DVDs, CDs or photo galleries when the Windows is turned off. The TX series are available in high-tech sapphire black and platinum white, creating the ultimate image statement.

VAIO VGN-S56GP/S and VAIO VGN-FS35GP

Designed for fashion-conscious mobile, the VGN-S56GP/S come with a range of enhanced features in a slim, stylish package weighing only 1.95 kg, while the VGN-FS35GP is built for customers who demand high performance notebooks for graphical usage such as architects and designers.

Powered by an Intel® Centrino™ Mobile Technology with Intel® Pentium® M Processor 750 (1.86GHz), both the VGN-S56GP/S and the VGN-FS35GP allow users to enjoy the power of NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 6400 with TurboCache™ for the ultimate performance of AV enjoyment. Furthermore the DVD±RW drive that supports DVD+R DL (Double Layer) disc enables users to watch or record up to 8.5GB of content on a single disc.
